Instagram bio ideas you can copy

Three layouts that use fonts without making the bio hard to read. Copy the styles from the tool and swap in your own words.

The creator bio

๐“œ๐“ช๐”‚๐“ช ๐“’๐“ฑ๐“ฎ๐“ท โœง

Bookings via the link below โ†“

Bold cursive name, small caps job title, plain city and call to action. The plain words are the ones people search for.

The gamer bio

๐—๐—”๐—ฌ | ษขแด€แดษชษดษข
Ranked grind every night โ˜…
Clips โžณ YouTube

Bold sans name for a sharp, clean look, small caps for the niche, then normal text so the details stay readable.

The aesthetic bio

โ˜พ ๐“ˆ๐“Š๐“ƒ๐“ƒ๐“Ž ๐’น๐’ถ๐“Ž๐“ˆ โ˜พ
coffee, film cameras, slow mornings
แต‰หขแต—. ยฒโฐยนโน

Thin cursive between two symbols, a plain middle line, and tiny text as a small sign-off.

Symbols for your Instagram bio

Symbols do half the work in an aesthetic bio: they separate lines, frame your name and point to your link. Tap any symbol to copy it.

Dividers and dots

Stars and sparkles

Hearts

Arrows for your link

Moon, flowers and nature

Pick one family and stick to it. A bio that mixes stars, hearts, flowers and arrows looks busy; two symbol types, used the same way on every line, looks designed.

Don't hide your profile from search

Instagram search matches characters exactly. To the search box, ๐“œ๐“ช๐”‚๐“ช and Maya are different words, so a fully styled name can make you harder to find. People can still find you by your @username, which is always plain.

If you rely on search, a business or creator account for example, keep your main keyword plain: your real name, your job or your city. Use fancy fonts for the parts that add personality.

Instagram name and bio limits

  • Bio: 150 characters. Symbols and emoji count toward that, so a decorated bio fills up fast.
  • Name: you can change it only twice in 14 days. Paste your styled name into your Notes app first, check how it looks, then save it on Instagram so you don't waste a change.
  • Username: changes aren't limited the same way, but it can't hold styled text at all.

What about Instagram's own fonts?

Instagram does have built-in fonts, but only inside Stories and its Edits video app. Those fonts are part of the image or video you post, so you can't copy them into your bio or a caption. For text people read on your profile, copy-and-paste styles are the only option.

Instagram font questions

Can I use fancy fonts in my Instagram username?

No. Instagram usernames only accept letters, numbers, periods and underscores, so styled characters are rejected. Put the styled version in your Name field instead. It shows in bold above your bio.

Can I change the font of the whole Instagram app?

No. Instagram has no font setting. You can make text bigger or smaller through your phone's display or accessibility settings, but the typeface stays the same. Styled text is the only way to change how your words look to other people.

Do these fonts work in Reels captions and comments?

Yes. Reels captions, post captions, comments and DMs all accept styled text. Paste it the same way you would in your bio.
