White bubbles are the safe choice: both cases, numbers, and wide support. Black bubbles and squares are bolder but come with two quirks, explained below.
Why black bubbles are always capitals
Unicode's black (filled) bubble and square sets contain capital letters only. There are no lowercase versions to map to, so the generator converts your lowercase letters to capitals for these styles.
The second quirk is colour. Four black square letters, 🅰 🅱 🅾 and 🅿, are also emoji (the blood-type and parking signs). On many phones those four appear as red emoji while the rest of the word stays black, so a word like 🅿🅰🆁🆃🆈 can look patchy. Pick black bubbles instead of black squares if your word contains A, B, O or P. White bubbles have one emoji of their own: capital Ⓜ, the metro sign, which some phones draw in blue. Use a lowercase ⓜ to avoid it.
Typed bubbles or a bubble image?
- Copy the text for bios, usernames, comments and chats, anywhere you're typing and can't upload a picture.
- Download the PNG for thumbnails, stickers, posters, slides and Canva designs. The image has a transparent background, chunky 3D letters and six colours, and it looks the same on every device because it's a picture.
Bubble numbers for lists and steps
Bubble numbers make tidy numbered lists in captions, comments and bios, where you can't use real list formatting. The generator converts digits one at a time, so "12" becomes ①②. Unicode has single characters for 1 to 20, so tap one below to copy it:
① Preheat the oven
② Mix the dry ingredients
③ Bake for 25 minutes
How to use your bubble PNG in Canva, CapCut or a thumbnail
- Type your word above, pick a colour and tap Download PNG.
- In Canva, open Uploads and add the file. In CapCut, add it as an overlay or sticker image.
- Drag a corner to resize. The background is transparent, so only the letters show over your photo or video.
- For a YouTube thumbnail, keep it to one to three words. Thumbnails are viewed small, so big chunky letters read best.
The PNG is drawn at a large size, so you can scale it down without blur. Scaling it far up will soften the edges; download again with fewer letters if you need it bigger.
